一种安全有效的男用避孕药仍是难以达到的目标。欧美科学家发展的甾体类激素虽然可以抑制男性的精子发生,但多数程度不同地抑制了促性腺激素而且抗生育效果不完全。中国发展的男用节育药一棉酚,抗生育效果显著,存在部分不可逆性和低血钾问题,但无多数甾体类药物的副作用,诸如体重增加、肝脏毒性和丧失性欲。本研究目的评价棉酚对健康巴西男性的抗生育效果并特别注意它的可逆性和低血钾问题。
A safe and effective male contraceptive is still difficult to achieve. Although steroid hormones developed by European and American scientists can inhibit spermatogenesis in men, most of them inhibit gonadotropin differently and their anti-fertility effects are incomplete. The development of Chinese male steroid drug gossypol has significant anti-fertility effects with some irreversibilities and hypokalemia, but none of the side effects of steroid drugs such as weight gain, liver toxicity and loss of libido. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anti-fertility effect of gossypol on healthy Brazilian men and to pay particular attention to its reversibility and hypokalemia.
