谷超豪 数学家,中国科学院院士,国际高等教育科学院院士。主要从事偏微分方程、微分几何、数学物理等方面的研究和教学工作,在纯粹数学和应用数学两个方面做出了杰出贡献。在国际上系统地也开创了多元和高阶混合型偏微分方程理论,是一个重大的突破,处于国际领先地位。创建了位相因子方法,球对称规范场的一般表达方式及对称破缺等,其研究成果获得物理学家和数学家的大量引用。最早解决了空气动力学方程有激波超音速绕流解有关的数学问题。属世界领先。进行了超音速钝体绕流的计算,开创了波映照的研究,引发了许多著名数学家进行后续研究,成为国际上一个注目的研究方向,其文章已成为这一领域里的经典性引文。系统地发展了矩阵形式的Darboux变换方法,为求解孤立子方程提供了普遍的,调和映照、曲面理论、自对偶杨-米尔斯场、 磁单极方程等等,都得到了国际公认的结果。他提出了K展空间的新方法,为国际同行所瞩目。
