各位代表、各位同志: 中国美术家协会第五次全国代表大会现在开幕了。 中国美术家协会第四次全国代表大会是在1985年召开的,距今已有13年的时间。回顾这一时期中国美术发展的历史,展望新世纪中国美术的光辉前景,为有中国特色社会主义美术事业的繁荣作好思想上、理论上和组织上的准备,是我们面临的重要任务。去年召开的中国共产党第十五次代表大会,号召全党、全国人民高举邓小平理论的伟大旗帜,把建设有中国特色社会主义事业推向21世纪。江泽民同志所作的十五大报告阐明了建设具有中国特色社会主义文化的重要意义,进一步指明了前进的方向。
Dear Delegates, Dear Comrades: The Fifth National Congress of the Chinese Artists Association is now inaugurated. The Fourth National Congress of the Chinese Artists Association was held in 1985 and has lasted 13 years. It is an important task for us to review the history of the development of Chinese art in this period, look forward to the glorious future of Chinese fine arts in the new century, and make ideological, theoretical and organizational preparations for the prosperity of the socialist art with Chinese characteristics. Last year’s 15th Chinese Communist Party Congress called on the entire party and people throughout the country to hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory and push the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics to the 21st century. The 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made by Comrade Jiang Zemin clarified the significance of building a socialist culture with Chinese characteristics and further pointed out the direction for its progress.
