蛇口碧涛中心是深圳市第一幢玻璃幕墙工程。建成于1983年。首轮方案由香港张永则师完成。广西综合设计院深圳分院在他们方案的基础上进行方案修改设计和施工图设计。碧涛中心由左侧的五层商场和右侧的小剧场、超级商场组成。小剧场为400座,剧场下面是超级商场。剧场要求以放映电影和演出小型歌舞为主,舞台尺寸不大。左侧商场部分共五层,入口大堂设有一台电动扶梯和一座楼梯,旁边是一个6米×8米的带玻璃采光顶棚的中庭。中庭的面积和高度的比例还比较合
