导言 本文分成两个部分。第一部分谈德比尔斯公司的聚晶金刚石产品Syndite及其性能,第二部分谈Syndite作车刀用的经济性。Syndite是一种特硬的合成产品,在其金属胎体中金刚石颗粒是以取向不齐的方式交互生长的。当它与硬质合金基片结合在一起时,就成为一种强有力的复合材料,其性能在某些条件下甚至超过单晶天然金刚石。Syndite具有许多工业用途,包括作刀具、拉丝模、钻头和耐磨部件。因车削是基本的切削方式,容易被人理解,这里就举车刀为例加以说明。
Introduction This article is divided into two parts. The first part deals with Syndite, a polycrystalline diamond product from De Beers and its performance. The second part deals with the economics of using Syndite as a turning tool. Syndite is a particularly hard synthetic product in which diamond particles interact with each other in an unevenly oriented manner. When combined with a cemented carbide substrate, it becomes a potent composite whose properties exceed even single crystal natural diamond under certain conditions. Syndite has many industrial uses, including cutting tools, wire drawing dies, drill bits and wear parts. Because turning is the basic cutting method, easy to be understood, here to lift the knife as an example to illustrate.
