问心无愧的是,《人物》诞生于改革开放的新时期,正是沿着那闪光的路标前进的。《人物》杂志创刊30年了,在几代接力者共同努力下,没有改变初衷,实践了最初的诺言,发挥了它应有的作用,确实可喜可贺。当年《人物》的问世,并非偶然,它是时代的产物,是在改革开放大潮中应运而生的。编辑部让我谈谈《人物》初创时的情况,本也义不容辞,只是我已经离休多年,许多事早已淡忘,只能说说当时的情况。

With the joint efforts of several generations of relayers, it has been very gratifying to note that it has not changed its original purpose, implemented its initial promise and played its due role. It is no accident that the “figure” came out in that year. It is a product of the times and came into being in the tide of reform and opening up. The editorial department asked me to talk about the situation when the “figure” was first set up. This is also an absolute must. It is only that I have been retired for many years and many things have long been forgotten. I can only talk about the circumstances at that time.
