The Gulf War reminded many of the U.S. military commanders of the words of General Norman Schwarzkopf: “Military vehicles are as important as tanks.” In 1993, at the tactical vehicle meeting of the National Defense Strategy Association, General Rose Ross of the Army Equipment Command Added: “During the Gulf War, I spent a full 7 months at the Multinational Corps Operations Center. It was very troubling for me to receive a report on the status of wheeled tactical vehicles sent back by the department on that day One day. ”The modernization of US military wheeled vehicles began in the early 1980s and is one of the elements of the U.S. Army’s modernization program. It includes a light high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle; a medium-sized M939A2 5-ton truck and a maneuverable heavy duty tactical truck.
