Preface Infantile urinary tract infection (hereinafter referred to as UTI) is a disease with a high incidence in upper respiratory tract infections in pediatric infectious diseases. In recent years it has been clarified that a significant number of patients with this disease, especially those with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), have a progressive scarring of renal cicatris and subsequent uremia, thus increasing their importance for pediatric UTI Understanding. There are many clinical reports about this disease in Japan, there are many reports on UTI and urinary tract abnormalities and VUR, but there is no long-term observation and exploration on the relationship between this disease and renal cicatricial atrophy and renal failure. The authors conducted a long-term follow-up of patients diagnosed with UTI, with particular attention paid to the prognosis of patients with VUR.
