聂大年(1402-1455年),字寿卿,号东轩,江西临川人。父亲聂同文,官中书舍人,在聂大年出生前5个月去世。聂大年由母亲胡氏抚养长大。聂大年天资明爽,颖悟超人。少年时,每日背诵数千言,长大后更是博学多才。明朝正统间,官仁和县教谕。在任上,修缮学舍,整顿学规,延聘有学之名士任教。景泰六年(1455年),朝廷修史,被荐人翰林院。时已年过半百,体弱多病,苦于精力不支,以沉痛心情作诗赠吏部尚书王直:“镜中白发孰怜我,湖上青山欲待谁?千里故人分橐少,百年公论盖棺迟。”书后不久,便客死在京师邸舍。
