一、把“三个代表”确立为党的指导思想,提出了四个“必须”的要求。“三个代表”重要思想是十六大的灵魂。十六大报告指出:开创中国特色社会主义事业新局面,必须高举邓小平理论伟大旗帜,坚持贯彻“三个代表”重要思想。十六大的主题贯穿了这样的指导思想,十六大的过程贯穿了这样的指导思想。相应地,原来通称“三个代表”要求,这次大会上全部改称为“‘三个代表’重要思想。”确立“三个代表”指导思想的地位并且写入党章,这是十六大做出的一个历史性贡献。
First, we must establish the “three represents” as the guiding ideology of the party and put forth four requirements that must be met.
