In their speeches, the leaders of the Chinese and Soviet parties and governments have repeatedly stressed: The eternal and unbreakable friendship between the peoples of China and the Soviet Union has taken place in ancient times. The purpose of this article is to elaborate on the history of the establishment and development of Sino-Russian relations since the seventeenth century. This article is based on published Russian historical materials and cites information from China, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
