Dallas, March 25, 1996 - Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) announced today the installation of a dedicated installation and maintenance test for the radio frequency (RF) system purportedly the industry’s first cellular digital packet data (CDPD) and mobile data base station equipment instrument. The new tester, an optional device in HP’s RF communications test suite, evaluates the performance of CDPD RF base station equipment to ensure the integrity of wireless signals. HP announced the new product at the Cellular Association’s show. HP 8921A already has a series of features that can be a comprehensive test of the parameters of the wireless base station; new tester can further enhance the functionality of the HP 8921A RF communications test equipment. With the addition of the CDPD test capability, the HP 8921A can quickly test key RF parameters for forward channel transmitters and reverse channel receivers
