近年来,去美国从事中小学教学工作的外国教师越来越多,这也成为美国教育领域乃至全社会关注的焦点。有人把这一现象称为“进口教育者”。从其他国家招募教师,反映出美国基础教育教师不足的现状,一定程度上削弱了美国内改善师资状况的努力,并将教师短缺的危机转嫁到他国,尤其是发展中国家。美国教师联合会对美国“进口教育者”现象作了调研,分析了其中的原因及产生的影响。
In recent years, more and more foreign teachers have gone to the United States to teach in primary and secondary schools, which has also become a focus of attention in the field of education in the United States and the whole society. Some people call this phenomenon “imported educators.” The recruitment of teachers from other countries reflects the current shortage of basic education teachers in the United States and to a certain extent weakened efforts to improve the status of teachers in the United States and has shifted the crisis of teacher shortage to other countries, especially to developing countries. The American Federation of Teachers conducted a survey on the phenomenon of “imported educators” in the United States and analyzed its causes and their impact.
