商鞅,是战国时代秦国的一位重要人物,他所主持推行的变法改革在历史上产生过很大的影响。过去凡是对这段历史有所了解的人,对商鞅及其变法大都并不陌生,从学术研究的角度来看,涉及商鞅其人其事的论文不胜枚举,有关的传记著述也不在少数。那么,在一本新近出版的商鞅评传中,如何超越过去而不抄“冷饭”,怎样独辟蹊径,写出新意,这是摆在作者面前的一大课题。最近,笔者读到了一本《商鞅:权霸人生》(长江文艺出版社1996年11月版),发现该书在这方面作出了可贵的探索。 这部评传的作者丁毅华教授,是国内研究秦史的知名学者。他专攻秦代政治改革史有年,对商鞅这一历史人物及其相关问题钻研尤多。较为深厚的学术功底为其进行深入思考和成功写作提供了保障。 限于篇幅,这里姑且不对该书进行全面的评介,仅着重谈一下它不同于以前类似作品的特点。
Shang Yang was an important figure in Qin State during the Warring States Period. The reform of reform that he presided over has had a great impact in history. In the past, anyone who knew something about this history was familiar to Shang Yang and his method. From an academic research point of view, there were numerous essays on Shang Yang’s work and many biographies. So, in a recently published Shang Yang comment on how to go beyond the past without copying “cold rice”, how to make new ideas, write something new, which is placed in front of the author a major issue. Recently, I read a book “Shang Yang: Power Tyrants Life” (Yangtze River Art Publishing House November 1996 edition), found that the book made a valuable exploration in this regard. Professor Ding Yihua, author of this criticism, is a famous scholar in the history of Qin history in China. He specialized in the history of political reform in the Qin Dynasty for many years, studying this historical figure Shang Yang and related issues more particularly. More profound academic foundation for its in-depth thinking and successful writing provides a guarantee. Due to space limitations, this book tentatively does not conduct a comprehensive review of the book, focusing only on it is different from the characteristics of previous similar works.
