On August 29, 1871, Jack Butler Yeats (1871-1957) was born in London. He came from an Irish rich family of art educators who produced four outstanding Yeats in Irish art history. Jack Yeats is known as the 20th century Ireland’s chief painter, lone genius in the history of painting, outstanding representative of the art world. He enjoys a high prestige in Ireland and continues to have an artistic appeal that has seen his retrospective and art seminars held regularly in museums, galleries, art galleries all over Ireland in recent years. But Jack Yeats and his art are little known outside of Ireland.
