为什么家用电器零售商会在炉具和冰箱上敲出凹痕?有一小部分家用电器在制造商运送给零售商的过程中会出现微小的碰撞损伤。零售商并不将这些电器运回工厂修理,而是直接降价卖掉。西尔斯百货商店早就采用了这套“瑕疵品降价卖”的做法。
Why do home appliance retailers knock dents on stoves and refrigerators? A small percentage of household appliances show minor impact damage during shipment from the manufacturer to the retailer. Instead of shipping the appliances back to the factory for repair, the retailers sell them directly at a reduced price. Sears department store has long adopted this set of “flawed products sold at reduced prices” approach.
