2006年4月30日,武汉铁路分局原副局长刘志祥一案在湖北省宜昌市宣判。宜昌市中级人民法院以故意伤害罪、贪污罪、受贿罪、巨额财产来源不明罪数罪并罪,判处其死刑,缓期二年执行,剥夺政治权利终身,并处没收财产人民币100万元。同时判决对其4000余万元的非法所得予以追缴。一审宣判后,被告人刘志祥当庭表示服判,不上诉。
On April 30, 2006, Liu Zhixiang, former deputy director of Wuhan Railway Bureau, announced the verdict in Yichang, Hubei Province. Yichang Intermediate People’s Court sentenced him to death for a crime of intentional assault, embezzlement, accepting bribes and crimes involving huge amounts of unidentified property. It was suspended for two years and deprived of his political rights for life. He also confiscated 1 million yuan worth of property. At the same time, it decided that more than 40 million yuan of illegal income should be recovered. After the verdict of the first instance, defendant Liu Zhixiang said in court that he will not adjudicate.
