Perfluoroalkyl iodides reacted with conjugated dienes in aqueous acetonitrile solution inthe presence of sodium dithionite at room temperature to give dimerization products, whereas, perfluo-roalkanesulfonyl bromides reacted with conjugated dienes to form 1,4-adducts under actinic irradiation.
