The authors studied the effects of the most important viral diseases in apples and pears on yield, growth vigor, external symptoms, and performance using iverme pears (one of the most cultivated varieties in Spain). The avirulent AA840T and AA1831T agronomic traits of Avicel pears (with large differences in yield when native Cynanchum C as rootstock) were grafted onto Cynanchum c (virus-free). Some of them were inoculated with PVY or apple latent virus complex infection, including apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (CLSV), stem cell virus (SGV), stem chicken pox (SP), and sectarian recession ). During the five years after planting, pear-infected pear vein virus showed obvious symptoms on the leaves. However, there was no external symptom appearing on apple latent virus or single virus pear. By the end of the fifth year, the accumulated yield of the virus tree was lower than that of the virus-free tree. Pear trees vaccinated with latent virus yield significantly decreased. Pear vein flavivirus has less effect on yield reduction, probably due to the dwarf effect of 榅 桲 C.
