随着奔腾CPU的出现,Intel公司增加了一个CPUID指令来测试CPU的类型。Qaplus等许多测试软件利用该指令能够准确地测出CPU的类型和主频,防止一些不法商人用Remark的方法来高价销售低档CPU。但是Cyrix公司推出的6X86奔腾级CPU及其带MMX指令的M2 CPU等均不支持CPUID指令,这些基于CPUID指令的测试软件都只显示其为一高速486芯片,使用户无法正确测试其CPU类型。笔者在翻阅了Cyrix公司的一些资料后发现,Cyrix的CPU从486开始便在其中加入了一个Device ID Register(设备标识寄存器),该寄存器中的值标识出了CPU的类型,并且Cyrix的后续产品都支持该功能,下面便简要地介绍如何利用Device ID Register(DIR)来识别Cyrix的CPU。
