齐默特(P.Zimmet)付教授在北京的报告及座谈主要谈到以下几方面: 一、太平洋地区糖尿病的流行病学调查在米兰尼西亚、波列尼西亚、密克罗尼西亚和澳洲土著居民保持传统的生活方式时,糖尿病是罕见的;在采取西方现代化生活后糖尿病的发病率逐渐升高。密克罗尼西亚的瑙鲁(Nauru)岛有5,000居民,20年前糖尿病发病率是0;由于该岛盛产磷酸盐,大量向外销售,居民经济生活显著提高,现在20岁以上的居民40%有糖尿病,50岁以上的居民70%有糖尿病。肥胖、高热量的膳食、体力活动的减少及精神刺激等是糖尿病的诱发因素。瑙鲁岛居民
