8 D5 Power Transmission Road Figure 17 is the D5 power transmission line. The front input shaft and the sliding clutch housing assembly are splined and driven by the torque converter. The direct range clutch, which is fixed in the reverse clutch housing assembly, acts and the engine torque is transmitted to the direct range clutch hub assembly. The direct clutch hub assembly is splined to the input and reaction mount to drive the input and reaction mount. The overdrive clutch, which is fixed in the overdrive clutch housing, acts to hold the overrun and reverse clutch hub assembly holder. The overspeed and reverse clutch hub assembly is splined to the front sun gear and holds the bracket for the front sun gear. Because the front input sun gear is fixed, the input and reaction brackets are driven directly by the clutch hub assembly, the long planet gears
