... shows that: Leipzig International Fair - also known as “the mother of all expositions”, its history is far more than 500 years. There is enough source material to show that Leipzig has exchanged objects as early as the primitive or prehistoric period. Leipzig, which was so splendidly developed later, dates back to the Neolithic origins but can also prove a place for trade in the Bronze Age or in the pre-Roman Iron Age (centuries BC) - a trade fair origin. An amazing event happened on July 20, 1497, in the touching history of the trade fair in Leipzig. The emperor, Maximilian I, at that time, issued a certificate of lasting economic significance.
