With the development of Intemet technology, methods, and tools of the developmentof information systems, especially in electronic commerce field, leads to maketheoretical and practical studies for developing electronic commerce systems.SinceYemen is a developing country, have to pay a great deal of attention to the great rolethat the Internet plays in the world of business.This thesis presents study of the state of development information systems in Yemen especially in E-Commerce information systems, also focusing on the methods and tools which were used in the developinginformation systems in Yemen, and the rate of using Object-Oriented Software Engineering in the universities and software companies of Yemen through developingin formation systems.The study showed that about 95% of information systems in Yemenwere developed by using traditional software engineering, only about 5% of informationsystems were developed by using Object-Oriented software engineering.Since Yemenigovernment is moving towards E-Commerce & E-Government and Based on the aboveresults, this thesis also presents ease study of developing electronic commerceinformation system of Online Bookstore System (OBS) for sales the books through theInternet.  On one hand , the Online Bookstore System has been developed by using the Object-Oriented technology as software engineering methodology based on Coad &Yourdon method for Object-Oriented Analysis model which has five layers and Object-Oriented Design model which has four components, because the Coad & Yourdonmethod is easy to study and apply.The case study can be seen as 3-Tier ArchitectureE-Commerce System which has become popular today.On the other hand, everydeveloper, programmer, and who interested in developing information systems especiallyin electronic commerce systems and software engineering can make use of such kind ofthis thesis.
