Our everyday life is quite stereotyped, because we have to label almosteverything to make it simpler to understand, to explain, to analyze and to build ourlife according to our expectations and experience. As we know stereotype is a commonly held public belief about specificsocial groups, or types of individuals. But sometimes there is confusion betweenterms "stereotype" and "prejudice but actually it has different meanings.Stereotypes are standardized and simplified conceptions of groups, based on someprior assumptions; its not based on objective truth, but rather subjective and oftenunverifiable content-matter. And prejudice is a prejudgment: i.e. a preconceivedbelief, opinion, or judgment made without ascertaining the facts of a case. Theword prejudice is most commonly used to refer to a preconceived judgmenttoward a group of people or a single person because of race, social class, gender, ethnicity, age, disability, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation or otherpersonal characteristics. Stereotypes are everywhere, in each and every aspect of our life. People canbe stereotyped because of their age (old people, young people, teenagers) , sex(women and men, boys and girls) , job (teacher, model, truck driver, doctor, lawyer) , culture (Arab, French, Newfoundland, Irish, Italian) , race (black, white,Chinese, Hispanic) , looks (beautiful, ugly, nerdy) , position in a family (mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather) , etc. So in this research work wemostly focused on gender stereotypes, possible existence of connection betweengender stereotypes and self-esteem of students from 3 countries, cultural influenceon self-esteem. We decided to examine this particular topic because of its actualityand importance in nowadays life to handle different situations in multiculturalsociety, including gender issues and influence of stereotypes on it. In theoretical part of this work we focused on explanation of the phenomenaof stereotypes and self-esteem, our objectives and hypothesis. In practical part ofthe research we focused on methodology, our multinational sample, results of oursurveys and final discussion. Main goal of this research is to investigate the effect of gender stereotypes onself-esteem of the students from three countries ( Asian, African European). Howeverthe specific objectives that this study seeks to address include the following: 1.To find out how culture and gender differences are influencing on self- esteem of the students from Asian, African and European countries? 2.How stereotyped are male and female students from Asian, African and European countries conceming their own gender and the opposite gender and if culture has any influence on it?
