It is well known that posttranslational modifications (PTMs) of proteins provide covalent alterations to extend their functions,but our knowledge of PTMs is still limited.In the present study,characteristics of protein phenotypes especially PTMs in Escherichia coli were determined using 2-DE based proteomics.
