  Sustainability is a growing movement in Western Society with the definition from the Brundtland(A)Report being:Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.The European Coil Coating Industry is developing strategies that will make it more sustainable and the paint suppliers are key players in that development.Projects from improved energy efficiency of Coil Coating lines to improved energy efficiency of buildings through targeted paint development are being progressed.The source of raw materials for paints is an issue which will become more and more of am issue as fossil fuels more expensive and ultimately in short supply,hence there is some focus on Bio-sourced resins and solvents.Finally industry and transport contribute significantly to pollution,can the large surface area covered by precoated metal act as a counter balance.
