The basic national conditions of China featured by a large population and less water and land resources, have imposed a lasting stress on food security in the country.It is essential for the sake of economic and social stability and sustainable development in China to strengthen the management of water and land resources (WLR) and improve the use efficiency of WLR.Based on the analysis of the status of agricultural WLR utilization, this paper discusses the problems therein, introduces major measures China has taken thereby, and makes an outlook on the future development, utilization and management of Chinas agricultural WLR.
