Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) as an emerging planar transmission which has many advantages such as low cost, high-power capacity and easy integration.In this paper, a new transition structure of microstrip-to-SIW is presented and to be used for the design of circulator, this structure has a short transition section and low reflection by rounding the connection of microstrip-to-SIW.Then a ka-band SIW T-junction circulator is proposed and optimized with the operating center frequency is 36.7GHz, and the dual circulation property is acquired with the 19.1% bandwidth for VSWR less than 1.21 by tuning impedance match.
