Objective:To explore the effect of balloon kyphoplasty on treating spine metastatic tumor and old-age osteoporosis vertebral compression fracture.Methods:Among of 23 cases,male 9,female 14.injury time:3~ 9 weeks,in which of all cases,there were 18 cases of old-age osteoporosis vertebral compression fracture,age from 48.5 to 81 years old,and average age was 51.5,diseased region:3 cases at Tll,6 cases at T12,7 cases at L1 2 cases at L2.There were 5 cases of vertebral body metastatic tumor,age from 36.4to 75 years old diseased region:3 cases at thoracic vertebrae,1 case at lumbar,1 case at thoracic and lumbar simultaneously,primarily tumor:there were 3 cases of pulmonary carcinoma,1 case of carcinoma of rectum.and 1 case of mammary adenocarcinoma.In which of these cases,the clinic symptom was pain and tenderness at the diseased region,and accompany with dysfunction of spine movement,but no symptoms and physical signs of spinal medulla compressed and nerve root injured.The suffering vertebral bodies treated by balloon kyphoplasty which had expanded vertebral bodies and reconstructed the vertebral body with PMMA cement by pedicle percutaneous puncture technic.Observation of the condition of symptom improved and the vertebral body fracture reduced.
