Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer related death in the Western World.Czech Republic is in the first place in worldwide epidemiological statistics following incidence and mortality of this disease.Incidence onman is 95/100000, on woman is 63/100000 and mortality on man is 52/100000, on woman is 37/100000.Colorectal cancers result from the accumulation of several distinct genetic alterations that occur at the chromosomal and DNA levels.This multi-step process is characterized by inactivation of tumor supressor genes, activation of protooncogenes by mutations and/or allelic loss, or mismatch repair deficiency.In this work we analyzed 297 sporadic tumors on the molecular genetic and the immunohistochemical levels in patients from North Moravia.
