Investigation of Microflocculation Filtration Process on Oilfield Wastewater by Pilot Study

  With the development of Xinjiang Oilfield,the water content of oil gradually increased.On the other hand,the new environmental law began to strictly implement about the wastewater discharge.In order to guarantee the Xinjiang Oilfield wastewater meet the new standard steadily,this paper studied the oilfield wastewater from the 2# Oil Production Plant,Xinjiang Oilfield.Microflocculation filtration technology added the sewage before flocculants,by adsorption-bridging action,settling in the filter type,and achieving the effect of sewage purification.By dynamic pilot study,results showed that the microflocculation filtration could effectively insure the removal rate of oil and suspended solids at lower levels and the effluent meet the standard of discharge steadily.Having added the microflocculation filtration experiment,the removal rate of oil and suspended solids were increased from 91.52% and 66.42% to 95.38% and 97.19% respectively.Scaling experiment showed that the extraction of HCO3 -,Ca2+ and Mg2+ were increased by 38.05mg/L,35.91mg/L and 0.28mg/L from quartz sand which was widely used as filter material in oil field water treatment after scaling study,meanwhile the extraction of HCO3 -,Ca2+ and Mg2+ were increased by 13.14mg/L,6.26mg/L and 0.27mg/L from ceramsite which was used as the microflocculation filter.The scaling tendency of ceramisite is lower than quartz sand,which avoided the filter tending to harden during the microflocculation filtration process and demonstrated the application of microflocculation filtration is practicable.The micro-flocculation filtration technique was applied in Xinjiang Oilfield wastewater treatment for the first time,demonstrated that the microflocculation filtration could satisfy the wastewater discharge standard steadily and reduce the amount of dosage at the same time,which saved operation cost.
