Suppression of Al2O3 and AI(OH)3 on Expansion due to Alkali-Silica Reaction in Concrete

  According to ASTM C1293-08b, the concrete prism method was used to test the expansion.The inhibiting effect of Al(OH)3 and A12O3 on ASR was studied, and the strength of concrete with Al(OH)3 and A12O3 was also tested.The results show that Al(OH)3 can suppress ASR expansion obviously, especially when mixing 30%,however, the suppressing action of A12O3 is not obvious.The results also show that the addition of Al(OH)3 and A12O3 causes the concrete strength decreased.
