Ultra-light steel viaducts,shown in Photo 1 and 2,were built from the point of view of conservation of underground historic sites at the Hoenzaka section of Hanshin Expressway route 13.Due to the large weight reduction,the viaducts have been suffered in the situation where fatigue damages have been frequently observed in recent years.Therefore,a large scale repair was conducted for the improvement of the stress filed by girder link method,shown in Figure 1,and the improvement of the structural details.In order to verify the improvement effect,the field measurement was carried out by measuring the actual stress reduction of the stress field at the portion where the damage is anticipated in future.
