Organizational Development(OD)is a structuralized methodology that has prevailed for more than fifty years and underpinned by the most classical theories in the domain of organization management and change management. However,in the recent years,it suffered various criticisms from scholars and practitioners.By reviewing its classical theoretical foundation coined by Kurt Lewin and comparing which to its further development, this paper identifies their methodological variants, draws a clear line between traditional OD and current OD,and points out that the current variants lack a overarching purpose and a consistent meaning comparing with its theoretical origin.
