The Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) can catalyze the oxidation of peroxidase substrates to make color reactions, which can amplify the detection signal in strip.Using the MNPs instead of colloidal gold as the new biosensor, we developed a novel nanozyme enhanced ICA (nanozyme-ICA) to detect avain influenza virus (AIV).The detection limit was 104 pfu/mL for AIV after the DAB substrate was added.The detection sensitivity of this method was 100-fold higher than standard colloidal gold-ICA and comparable with ELISA, while it is much faster (within 30 minutes) and simpler (without need of specialist facilities).These characteristics make the nanozyme-ICA to be an ideal candidate for the AIV detection in epidemic areas.
