The disorders caused by microsatellite repeats expansion are a group of genetic disorders successfully diagnosed with molecular methods for last 20 years.Up to now more than 30 pathological syndromes where micro-and minisatellite repeat expansion present in the coding and noncoding regions of different genes have been discovered, creating a clinically heterogenous group of inherited conditions characterized by neurodegenerative processes, progressive course and often, antieipation.
