纤维素原料资源十分丰富，同时又是可再生资源，利用纤维素制备燃料酒精是开拓发展新能源的重要途径，具有巨大潜力和可再生性。本文阐述了燃料酒精的发展概况，介绍了利用纤维质制造燃料酒精的预处理、糖化、发酵过程的新工艺，为研究生物质可再生能源提供了新方法。
本文在分析生物质能开发的目标和途径、生物质的几个典型特点后，强调集约化利用生物质资源，维护生态平衡、坚持绿色化学原则、强化生物技术应用是生物质能可持续开发利用的保障，从我国的基本国情出发，把木质纤维素原料的常压快速液化产物重整制氢技术与车载氢燃料电池匹配可能成为我国可再生能源建设的一个突破口。
