Dimethyl ether (DME) is found to be one of the most promising alternative fuels for diesel engines.DME,mainly made from coal,is an oxygenate fuel and has no carbon-carbon bonds,and it exhibits a higher cetane number than diesel fuel and has excellent autoignition characteristics [1].Also,NOx,CO emission is very low in a DME combtustion system owing to straightforward of C-C bonds.Hence,interest in process from methanol to DME is expected with the expansion of the clean energy trend these days.Vapor-Liquid equilibrium data for dimethyl ether (CH3OCH3) + methanol (CH3OH) binary system is necessary to design appropriate process for converting methanol into dimethyl ether.However,there are few experimental data was reported in the literature for dimethyl ether (CH3OCH3) + methanol (CH3OH) system [2-4].
