Selective sensing of drugs, including drugs of abuse, biomarkers, agricultural chemicals, pollutants, food adulterants, explosives and nerve agents are all proposed uses of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) [1].What are the challenges involved with integrating MIPs with transducers and in assays and how are they being overcome? This presentation will give examples of MIP sensors [2,3] and MIP-based assays from our work and from other laboratories as to how these challenges are being met, including through the use of nanomaterials [4,5].
