蒙古国东戈壁省达图铁矿床地处中蒙褶皱系北缘,戈壁-克鲁伦铁锌多金属成矿带西南部。戈壁-克鲁伦铁锌多金属成矿带共发现一百多处铁矿床(矿点),其中大型、中型和小型铁矿数十处,大多是近年来勘查评价的,显示了较好的找矿前景,该区域逐渐成为蒙古国铁矿勘查与开发的热点区域之一(聂凤军等,2010;冯昌格等,2014;于宝显等,2014)。该区铁矿成因类型主要为沉积变质型和矽卡岩型。该矿是戈壁-克鲁伦铁锌多金属成矿带较典型的沉积变质型铁矿,共探获(332+333)铁矿石资
