There are a great deal of records upon the correlations of the clincial patterns of depression and the personality-constitution pattern.The foramation of ones personality and constitution is from both hereditary and acquired elements. The Five-Pattern Personlity Inventory and the Five-Five Constitution Inventory that are established on the basis of TCM theories are used to examine patients with depression to osberve their relationships to the disease.Results showed that in the personality the Taiyin type has high mark but low in Yin-Yang Balanced.So are similar in the constitution patterns.They reveal the different clinical patterns of depression as well as the relations of the amounts of yin and yang of the constitution and the personaltiy.It would be helpful to make the individual plan of treatment.It also proves the logion of the that Treatment must be given acorrding to the Five patterns of the individual..It is also a way of clinical evaluation and enhances the TCM diagnostic method and theory of depression.
