Hong kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZM Bridge) is a world-class sea-crossing passage with national strategic significance in China.Even the approach span is very long,there are still too many piers,the water resistance ratio is very high.In order to reduce the water resistance ratio,pile foundation with cap under soil surface (PFCUSS) is adopted.In the same time,some small vessel,such as fishing boat,small tonnage ship,are permitted in the approach area.Thus because of the bad weather,human error,ship mechanical fault,the risk for piers of approach impacted by the vessels is very high so that the whole bridge is dangerous.In this paper the influence rule of dynamic response and the vessel collision performance for the PFCUSS is performed by two stage dynamic finite element analysis method.
