A novel dual-path TOFMS/photoelectron velocity-map imaging (VMI) system of size-selected anions has been constructed to study the geometries and electronic structures of clusters [1].The photoelectron spectra (PES) of photodetachment of cluster anions Au–HR (R=SCH3,OCH3,OH) are measured in an effort to understand how Au– reacts with these small solvent molecules.
