In recent years,the significance of Mg2Si as a thermoelectric(TE)material has come to the fore due to its power generation capability,its abundance,its non-toxicity,and because it is lightweight.While a value of 1 for ZT is typical doped n-type Mg2Si,its TE properties need to be improved for it to become a major TE material.It is well known that doping Mg2Si with the appropriate impurity elements can enhance the TE performance,increase the power factor or decrease the thermal conductivity.
