A sensitive method is presented for the fast screening and determination of residual solvents (MeOH,EtOH,trichloroethylene and hexane,carbon tetrachloride and benzene)in health functional products.The applicability of a solid phase micro extraction sampler in combination with GC equipped a MS detector is explored.Different fibers were compared.The residual solvents in foods are defined as organic volatile chemicals that are used or produced in manufacture of extracts or additives,or functional foods.The solvents are not completely by practical manufacturing techniques and these solvents also may become contaminated by such solvents from packing,transportation or storage in warehouses.The volatile 11 residual solvents such as MeOH,EtOH,trichloroethylene and hexane were separated depending on the column property,temp.and time using Gas Chromatograph(GC).After acquiring the GC condition,the sample preparation method using a Solid Phase Micro Extraction(SPME) to screen the solvents is developed.
