In this paper, the author carries out an analysis on the shortcomings of the existing marketing mode of higher learning schools as well as the importance of taking customers as the focus in details.At the mean time, the author points out that the non-profit characteristic of higher education decides that the objective of the marketing of higher education is not to acquire the maximal profit.As a matter of fact, it is necessary for the higher learning schools to construct a customer-focused higher education marketing mode on the basis of the characteristics such as the diversified customer markets, the lifelong customer values and diversified student roles.
