The increasing importance of inhaled medicines for treating localized and systemic diseases has led to the publication of a plethora of research papers,patents and patent applications in the field.Substantial progress has been made in 1) developing novel inhalation formulation and device technologies; 2) understanding in vivo and in vitro correlation of inhaled particles and 3) controlling a multitude of inter-dependent factors that determine the safety,efficacy and quality of inhalation products.
