This symposium, which is to be hosted by the IASP Media and Suicide Task Force aims at promoting latest available evidence of media effects of suicide-related reports in traditional media and related preventive endeavours.The composition of presenters and research groups from 5 countries and 4 continents will provide a truly international insight into the topic area to the audience.Presentations on content-analyses of current suicide portrayals, investigations of harmful effects of suicide reports as well as potentially protective effects of reporting mastery of crisis, as well as updates on ongoing preventive interventions with focus on the mass media will provide a comprehensive insight into the topic area.
