Since 1988 year, cancer has become the most common cause of death in Korea.Breast cancer in Korea became the most common cancer in female.There are several reasons: 1) Westernized food patterns; high fat and high calorie diet; 2) lower birth rate; 3) shorter period of breast feeding; 4) longer exposure to estrogen; early menarche with late menopause, hormone replacement therapy and use of oral contraceptives; 5) late first-delivery; 6) higher BMI(low physical activity); 7) higher in educational level, etc.Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast is a heterogeneous group of lesions characterized by a clonal proliferation of epithelial malignant cells confined within the lumen of mammary ducts without evidence of stromal invasion through the basement membrane into adjacent breast stroma by light microscopic examination.Currently, DCIS is the most rapidly growing subgroup in the breast cancer family.
